What happens when a computational process, with no artistic intention, no taste, no bias, begins to generate absolutely everything that can exist within a closed system of rules?
If a screen can display every possible image, and a speaker can play every possible harmony within a finite frame — have we built a mirror of infinity, or a mathematical prison that proves, once and for all, that infinity was never here?
Aleph Matrix is not a work to be contemplated. It is a work to be traversed. It is a computational object designed to do one single thing: exhaust a space of possibilities to its very last instance — omitting nothing, repeating nothing, judging nothing. The result is, at once, the most complete archive ever created and the most honest document ever produced about the limits of what can be seen, heard, and thought.
This project starts from a common intuition — and dismantles it completely. The intuition is this: if we could travel across the entire universe with a camera, reaching every corner of space and time, with infinite lenses and infinite filters and infinite exposures, we would end up with an infinite number of photographs. That is not true. The moment an image is fixed to a resolution, a color depth, a frame duration — it stops being infinite. It becomes a number. Enormous, yes. Incomprehensible, yes. But a number. And a number has a beginning, an order, and an end.
Aleph Matrix exists to reach that end. Or, more precisely, to prove that the end exists — and to bring us, frame by frame, chord by chord, closer to the exact boundary between everything that can exist and everything that, by definition, never will.
At the core of the system sits a screen of 1920 × 1080 pixels. An ordinary resolution — the same as any television. But inside that seemingly modest grid hides one of the largest numbers the human mind can name, and almost none can truly imagine.
To understand it, start from the smallest unit possible: a bit. A bit can only be in two states — on or off, 1 or 0. With one bit, there are exactly 2 possibilities. A byte is 8 bits together, and with 8 switches that can each be in two positions, the number of combinations jumps to 256.
Now we scale up. A single color pixel, in the standard we use every day (24 bits — one byte for red, one for green, one for blue), doesn't have 256 possibilities. It has 16,777,216. More than sixteen million distinct colors that a single point of light can emit — and it never stops changing through all of them.
That number — 16,777,216 — comes from three separate bytes read together. One byte controls how much red is in the pixel, one controls green, one controls blue. Each one can independently be anywhere from 0 to 255. The pixel you see is simply those three values, added together as light:
Every time we add a single pixel, the number of possible images doesn't add up — it multiplies by more than sixteen million. With just four pixels (a 2×2 grid), we already reach figures comparable to the number of grains of sand on every beach on Earth. Now imagine that same idea, scaled to a full screen.
A full 1920 × 1080 screen contains 2,073,600 pixels. The total number of possible images is 2 raised to the power of 49,766,400 — a number that, written out in decimal digits, would require roughly 15 million digits. Printed at 3,000 digits per page, that number alone would fill a book of more than 5,000 pages. And that's just to describe how many images exist — not to show a single one of them.

Inside that space of possibilities — generated systematically, autonomously, with no human curation — every photograph ever taken exists by mathematical necessity. The birth of the universe exists. Realities that never happened but are visually possible exist.
This makes Aleph Matrix, technically, the longest film ever generated — a runtime measured not in hours, but in the full combinatorial space of the image itself. We are in the process of contacting Guinness World Records to formally document this fact.
On 24.09.2026, Aleph Matrix begins. Not a premiere — an ignition. The first frame of a transmission that, once started, is not designed to stop: a sequence built to run continuously, generation after generation, for longer than recorded civilization, longer than our species, on a timescale that starts to approach the lifespan of stars. Everything before that date is preparation. Everything after it is runtime. Mark the date.
If the visual engine exhausts the space of everything that can be seen, the harmonic engine exhausts the space of everything that can be heard — within the tonal language that has governed Western music for centuries.
The system calculates and performs, one by one, every possible progression of four diatonic chords. The basis is simple: any scale has 7 degrees, and therefore 7 possible diatonic chords for each function. A 4-chord progression, where each position can be any of those 7 degrees, generates 7⁴ = 2,401 possible progressions within a single key and a single scale.
But music doesn't happen in a single key. There are 12 possible tonal centers (the 12 notes of the tempered system). And there is no single "major scale": the engine runs through the 4 Mother Scales that generate the vast majority of the Western harmonic vocabulary — Major, Melodic Minor, Harmonic Minor, and Harmonic Major.
115,248 harmonic progressions. Not a selection of the "best" ones — all of them. Every four-chord song ever composed, every progression yet to be written, every sequence a composer once threw away for "not sounding right," and every one that became a global standard — all of them live inside this same closed set. Aleph Matrix does not compose music. It performs, in order, the complete harmonic DNA of the Western tonal tradition.
To hear the harmonic engine in full is, in a sense, to hear every possible song within this language — sequenced, with no aesthetic selection. The beautiful and the trivial share the same mathematical space. The difference between a "brilliant" progression and a forgettable one is not one of nature, but of position: an index inside a finite list of 115,248 entries.
There is an intuition almost everyone shares before thinking twice about it: that the universe, being so vast, must contain an infinite number of possible images. That if a camera could travel to every corner of space and time, with infinite lenses and filters, the resulting catalog would have no end.
Aleph Matrix proves that intuition wrong. Not because the universe is small, but because an image is not the universe. An image is a finite representation: a fixed number of pixels, each with a fixed number of possible states. The moment a resolution and a color depth are fixed, the set of all possible images stops being a concept and becomes a countable mathematical object. Gigantic — but countable. If everything that can be seen is, in the end, a finite number — what does that mean for everything that can be thought, felt, or lived? Is it possible that the "infinity" we attribute to human experience is, in reality, just a lack of resolution in our own perception of time?
Jorge Luis Borges imagined a library containing every possible book of 410 pages — a monstrous but finite number, containing every truth, every lie, and every absurd combination of characters ever conceivable. Aleph Matrix is not a metaphor for that library. It is its literal construction, applied to the domain of moving image and harmonic sound — and unlike Borges' library, this one can actually be walked through, frame by frame, chord by chord, in real time, in front of your eyes.
A bottomless universe of possibilities, with no order and no destination — unreachable by definition.
An incomprehensibly large number — but an exact one. With a first frame, and, somewhere in time, a last one.
The most important part of Aleph Matrix is not what appears on the screen. It is what its existence implies about everything that cannot appear.
By defining a complete set — every possible image at 1920×1080, 24-bit color, every possible 4-chord progression across the 4 mother scales — you automatically define its boundary too. Everything that exists outside that boundary is not "infinite": it is simply another system. A higher resolution. A different color depth. A microtonality our twelve notes cannot express. An instant of time shorter than a single frame.
If a machine can show you every image your screen is capable of producing — then what is left? What lies on the other side of that boundary, in the space that no pixel, no bit, no harmonic progression of this system will ever touch? Aleph Matrix does not claim to reach that place. It claims to walk you to the exact edge where that place begins — and leave you standing there, facing the wall.
This may be the central philosophical gesture of the work: it does not claim to have captured infinity. It claims to have exhausted the finite — and in doing so, it points, with a precision no metaphor could offer, to exactly where what-is-not-here begins. It is not about what you see. It is about what, for the first time, you can point at and say: "there — that is where everything that can exist in this system ends, and where something that doesn't even have a name yet begins."
Aleph Matrix is not designed to be seen in its entirety by a single viewer — not even by all of humanity together. It is designed to exist — to run continuously, autonomously, indifferent to whether anyone is watching.
At 24 frames per second, traversing the entire visual space of the engine would take an amount of time with no practical name in any human unit — not years, not millennia, not ages of the universe, but a number of seconds whose magnitude comfortably exceeds any estimate of the age of the cosmos. And yet — and this is the crucial part — that time is finite. It has an end. An end no human being will ever witness, but one that exists, mathematically, somewhere in the future.
What does it mean to create a work whose ending is mathematically certain, but humanly unreachable? Is this the most optimistic art ever conceived — a bet that computation will continue, generation after generation, until the end of time — or is it, instead, the most honest monument ever built to the true scale of our own temporal insignificance?
This is why an essential part of this project is documentary: we are in contact with Guinness World Records to formally register both the longest generative film ever created and the most complete harmonic catalog ever performed within a defined tonal system. We are not after the record as a spectacle, but as a notarized record — a way of fixing, in the historical ledger, the exact moment humanity built a machine capable of enumerating its own perceptual universe.
