"Duality" Film Series · Episode 4 · Rawile

Through Affinity & Adversity

The fourth chapter of Rawile's "Duality" series — a title that names its own structure: two opposing forces, affinity and adversity, held in the same frame and asked to coexist.

Role: Music Composition Series: Duality, Ep. 4

The Project

Scoring one installment of an ongoing series comes with a constraint a standalone film doesn't have: the music has to feel continuous with everything that came before it in "Duality" while still standing as its own statement for episode four's specific argument — that closeness and conflict aren't opposites so much as two readings of the same relationship.

That duality is the compositional brief in miniature: write music that can hold warmth and tension in the same phrase, so the score never resolves the film's central question before the film itself does.

My Role

Composer

Composed the original score for this episode of Rawile's "Duality" series, building music to carry the episode's tension between affinity and adversity from scene to scene.
